Karen Vickrey Meacham is a retired teacher who taught business classes for 37 years at CHS, Northwest, and Kenwood High School. Her past honors included CMCSS Distinguished Classroom Teacher and Tennessee Teacher of the Year. Following retirement from CMCSS, she taught for nine years at her alma mater, Austin Peay State University, as an adjunct instructor. Currently, Karen works in sales part-time for Tennessee Grass Fed Beef.
One of the joys of her life has been working with some outstanding students through the years. David Westover, one of her former students from Kenwood High School, is a dance instructor and manager of National Dance Club in Brentwood. It has been a thrill for her to have the opportunity to dance with him as her partner in this year's Dancing with the Stars.
Karen is the daughter of the late Ken Vickrey and Tommye Vickrey Middleton and step daughter of Bob Middleton. She is married to her high school sweetheart, John, and they proudly share their daughter, Jenny, and granddaughter, Lennon, who is 16 months old. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending concerts, playing bunco, and spoiling Lennon. As a '66 graduate of Clarksville High, she is on the planning committee for their upcoming 50th reunion in June. She is a member of First Baptist Church and enjoys her ladies bible study group.
