Olasubomi Bashorun went to school in Oklahoma and graduated with an art and family psychology degree. He now lives and works in the Middle Tennessee area. He recently opened Fusion Arts Studio in Clarksville, where he teaches byob paint class private art and dance lessons.
Ola’s artistic inspiration was fostered and influenced, in part, by his high school art teacher, Kathleen Blake. “I have always had talent to see and create art, but she made me realize what art can do for the mind and soul. She taught me to be creative and express myself with my art. I’ve been doing that ever since.”
Now, Ola is the one inspiring others through his own teaching. His favorite part of being a teacher is “giving people a tool that they can use to express themselves and be creative.”
He began exploring what other art forms do for the mind body and soul. Though his passion is fine art in his exploration he realized dance is the best hobby for people to partake in helps the it activates all three the mind body and soul.. He then started offering ballroom dance classes and has partnered with other dance instructors who are trained in gymnastics hip-hop and ballet.
Olasubomi goal is to use the arts as therapy. Fusion is the starting point. First art then dance next will be music.
Art saves lives!
